This year’s SpringSing Weekend was one for the books! Congrats to all of our college performers for putting on one showstopper of a benefit concert and competition, our sound techs for helping them to sound so great, our a cappella pros who journeyed from across the country to teach, judge, and perform, and and our amazing members who have dedicated the last several months to planning, setup, cleanup, and much more– ALL FOR THE CAUSE! There are so many people to thank, it’s impossible to do it all (concisely) here. Most of all, thank YOU (audience members) for supporting our BIGGEST annual fundraiser!
Our photographer, Van Cobb Owens, has done a phenomenal job of documenting the weekend– please stay tuned for the pics– they’re amazing! And if YOU took photos this weekend, please share! Email them to TeamBurnsCharity@gmail.com, post them on our Facebook page, and tag your friends! It’s very important to do this, to let everyone know what an awesome time you had!
Official totals raised to come in the next few days (we’re still receiving generous donations– YES, you can still donate, if you feel so inclined)! Stay tuned.

SPRINGSING WEEKEND OVERVIEW
SpringSing Weekend™ is the second-annual two-day a cappella music festival for cancer research and awareness. SpringSing uses the power of human voice to bring people together for one common cause, gathering nearly a dozen of the best college and professional a cappella groups, who donate their time and talents to CHARITY. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
There’s something for everyone at SpringSing Weekend™! If you’re an a cappella singer, or you’d like to learn about the music business in general), make sure to register for Saturday’s A Cappella WORKSHOPS (they’re taught by professional recording artists!). If you enjoy the rush of bidding on items like tickets to see the Atlanta Braves or Grammy Award winning-guitarist, Jeff Beck (and much more!), check out SpringSing’s first-ever SILENT AUCTION! …And of course, our main event, the SPRINGSING: Voices United for a Cure™ BENEFIT CONCERT!
SPRINGSING WEEKEND ™ is brought to you by the The Team Burns Charitable Foundation™. We do our best to make sure that each year’s event is a unique, high-quality experience; the “a cappella experience like no other.” If you’ve been to SpringSing before and can attest to this (or plan to come this year!
) , we invite you to Become a Fan on Facebook and Follow Us on Twitter!
“I’m very grateful to have been invited to this event. This is precisely the kind of thing we should all be doing with music. I hope everyone makes an effort to try to be there. Remember that all proceeds are going directly to cancer research. Don’t miss it.”

SPRINGSING MUSIC WORKSHOPS
9–4 pm @ The Hugh Hodgson School of Music
(University of Georgia Campus)
Want to learn easy ways to improve your music group? Engineer live sound for your group’s next big show? Win a cappella competitions?
Find out how at SPRINGSING WEEKEND’s “Music Workshops”!
There are fifteen (15) interactive workshops available! These hour-long seminars are tailored to a cappella singers and vocal performers, but are open to all musicians of all kinds and skill levels. These are rare opportunities to learn from a variety of music industry experts, including five professional recording groups, a manager, publicist, and a handful of a cappella competition producers and judges!
Where else can college a cappella groups learn “Secrets of ICCAs” and “How to Impress Competition Judges” from Lindsay Howerton, a PRODUCER of the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs)? For groups that compete every year, these sessions are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities… absolute musts.
Nearly every music group could learn a thing or twenty-three from “How to Use Electronic Media More Effectively” from AHMIR, “THE #1 MOST POPULAR R&B GROUP ON YOUTUBE,” (with more than 12,000,000 video views and 80,000 subscribers!)… no brainer. (scroll down to see thirteen more seminars just like these below.)
You’ll also have the opportunity to network and make friends with college students from across the South. A cappella groups from Georgia State University, Florida State University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, James Madison University (in VA) and more have all signed up for SpringSing workshops… Join in on the fun!
See the full list of Workshops here and REGISTER! It’s only $20 for the full day of music seminars, and lunch is included. And of course, all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society!
