“SpringSing: Voices United for a Cure”
◈ BENEFIT CONCERT ◈
Day one of SpringSing Weekend 2010 kicks off with a welcome reception and banquet dinner for invited performing groups. College groups get the chance to network with other college students and music industry professionals at the ‘meet and greet’ reception in the Classic Center. Lunch is provided by Chick-Fil-A, as groups mingle and get to know one another through various icebreakers.
Meanwhile, soundchecks for the Benefit Concert are underway, as groups taking part in the Collegiate Competition receive their final instructions. The groups then change into semi-formal attire for the Banquet, a feast for the performers and invited guests, and the theatre doors open for the main event: “SpringSing: Voices United for a Cure” Benefit Concert!
Doors Open: 6pm
Show Begins: 7pm
Collegiate Competition & Professional Showcase
The first half of the Benefit Concert is the SpringSing Competition, which features college a cappella groups from all across the nation. Each group is allowed a three-song set of up to 12 minutes to wow the judges, and afterwards, the professional a cappella groups take the stage to deliver one showstopping performance after another. The results are announced, and one group walks away with a $500 cash prize, as well as a trophy and bragging rights. Last year’s 1st-place group was Florida State University’s All-Night Yahtzee. Who will reign victorious at SpringSing Competition 2010?
